Samuel N. Wininger, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away Aug. 17, 2015. He was born in French Lick, Ind., to the late Dolphus and Mary Ervin Wininger.
Sam served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was married to his loving wife of 59 years, Delores June Bohannon Wininger.
He was an inspector at Navistar for 33 years. For 17 years, Sam was a member of Springs Valley Exchange Club, where he served as Treasurer.
Sam is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Anita (Mark) Brown, Mel Wininger, Marvin (Leah) Wininger and Paula (Dan) Barlow; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015, at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St.
