Young leads Royals girls golf team in 3-way meet

Eastern Hancock’s Alexis Young paced the Royals on Monday in their three-way meet with Knightstown and Blue River Valley.

The junior fired a 61 at Royal Hylands Golf Course as Eastern Hancock turned in a team score of 255.

Knightstown won the event with a combined score of 227. Blue River Valley tallied a 244 to take second overall.

Senior Logan O’Neal was second-best for the Royals with a 63. Her classmate Kensie Watson contributed a 65, while senior Emma Lewis finished with a 66.

Eastern Hancock’s next match was Thursday against Mt. Vernon at Old Oakland.

Mt. Vernon all-sport passes now available

The start of a new athletic season for the 2015-16 school year has begun, and Mt. Vernon High School has year-round All-Sport Passes available.

The All-Sport Passes are good for admission into any regular-season high school athletic game/contest for the 2015-16 school year, excluding any tournaments.

MVHS attendees can save money by purchasing a MVHS All-Sport Pass in the Athletic Office at the following rates:

Senior Citizen All-Sport Pass: $45

Student All-Sport Pass: $65

Adult All-Sport Pass: $85

Family Pass (for anyone living under the same roof): $225

Little Cougar basketball registration now open

Registration is open for the Greenfield-Central Little Cougars Girls Basketball League.

The feeder league for girls from kindergarten through sixth grade runs from late August through the first week of October. The deadline to register is Aug. 25, with practices and games set to begin the week of Aug. 31.

Cost to join the league is $40 per player. Checks must be made payable to Greenfield Girls Basketball. Registration forms can be obtained through Greenfield-Central High School girls basketball coach Doug Laker at 317-448-0853.

The completed forms should be mailed, Attn. Doug Laker, 810 N. Broadway, Greenfield, IN 46140.

For those interested in being a coach, contact Laker.

Player physicals are recommended but not required.
