Silas W. Brockman, 68, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015. He was born June 2, 1947, in Russell Springs, Ky. and was the son of Owen and Lois (Harmon) Brockman.

He attended Adair County High School in Russell Springs, Ky. Healso attended Faith Baptist Church of Morristown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a talented craftsmen and fix it man and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Silas was a resident of Shelbyville since 1965. He retired in 2011, as a welder for 15 years, at Kasco Corp. He was also a factory worker, for 20 years, at GE/Wellman.

Silas is survived by wife, who he married Sept. 1, 1967, Doris Brockman of Shelbyville; two sons, Scott Brockman of Shelbyville and Bradey (Reyna Samantha) Brockman of Greenfield; daughter, Na Tosha (Joseph) Hansome of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren, Giovanny Meneses Brockman, Abbigail Carrio Hansome, Lydia Hansome, Elijah Hansome, Silas Hansome, Miriam Hansome and London Brockman; brother, Sam Brockman or Russell Springs, Ky. and sister, Exie West of Russell Springs, Ky.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Carlus; infant sister, Elsie and sister, Betty Bunch.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at Glenn E George & Son Funeral Home 437 Amos Rd Shelbyville, IN 46176. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at the funeral home. Pastor Wayne Scott will officiate. Burial will follow at Bennett Cemetery.
