Lucy (Rector) Adams, 95, of Morristown, passed away       Aug. 10, 2015, at Morristown Manor in Morristown. She was born Sept. 5, 1919, in Crab Orchard, Ky., to Saint Elmer Rector and Rosa (Saylor) Rector. She later met and married her husband, James Carl Adams, who precedes her in death.

After completing her education in Kentucky, Lucy was employed at the Warren Township School Corporation as a housekeeper and also enjoyed the many years spent raising her family as a homemaker. She was a member of the East Side Trinity Gospel Tabernacle in Indianapolis.

Surviving Lucy, is her son, Ronald (Tamey) Adams of Morristown; sister, Anna Carrier of Greenwood; step-children, as well as, numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Glenn Adams; one brother, Silas Rector; sisters Cora Doyle, Celia Sword, Juanita Osborne and Della Chasteen.

Visitation for Lucy will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on August 14, 2015, at the Hendryx Mortuary – New Palestine Chapel, 19 E. Main St., New Palestine, IN, 46163. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Friends are welcome to gather after the services in celebration of Lucy’s life at The Annex, 121 E. Main St., New Palestine, IN, 46163.
