Kids theater troupe plans auditions
GREENFIELD — KidsPlay Inc. children’s theater will have auditions for its fall production of Paranormal High School by Andrew Ross from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday for returning KidsPlayers and Thursday, August 13, for new actors at the KidsPlay Dungeon, 98 E. North St. The director is looking for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades to fill parts for 24 speaking roles and 12 dancers. Prepared audition pieces of no more than two minutes are required for new auditioners and optional for returning auditioners. It is also suggested that all auditioners read the script. Performances are the weekend of November 6-8 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts in downtown Greenfield, with a possible daytime matinee on Wednesday, November 4. Parks department hosts skating classes
GREENFIELD — Beginning and intermediate skaters ages 4 and up can learn and improve rollerskating skills as part of a class at the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department. Indoor and outdoor skates and Rollerblades are acceptable.
Attendees should bring their own skates, helmets, knee/elbow pads. The session runs from 11 a.m. to noon Saturdays, August 15 through October 3 at the Riley Park basketball/tennis courts. The cost is $5 per class or $30 per session. Visit greenfieldin.org to register online.
