Ida Faye Knott, 83, of Knightstown, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospice in Greenfield. She was born Oct.16, 1931, in Casey County, Ky., the daughter of the late Aaron and Lula True.
She married Joseph K. Knott on Nov.16, 1949, they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2008, before Joseph’s death.
During the course of her life, Ida worked 26 years providing care as a QMA at local nursing homes and with home health care. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Knightstown.
Survivors include two sons, Charles (Melissa) Knott of Frankfort, Ky., Kevin (Ann) Knott of Knightstown; daughter, Kristy Hammonds of Indianapolis; brother, James True of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Barbara Dewees of Eaton, Ind.; six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; two great- great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her cherished dogs Baby, Princess and Hardy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph K. Knott,; daughter, Kimberly Rose Knott, in August of 1970; five sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, Ind., with Brother Richard Thayer and Pastor Anthony Darling officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
