John Kevin Elixman, 56, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. He was born on April 4, 1959, in Indianapolis, to Marcia (Durbin) Elixman and the late John Robert Elixman.
He was a graduate of Ball State University and was sports information director at Franklin College for more than 25 years. He also was a sportswriter for the Johnson County Daily Journal.
Kevin was an avid sports and Beatles fan.
He is survived by his sons, David and Andrew Elixman; his mother; sisters, Beth Campbell and Kathy Hirtz Bickel (Rob); brother, Ric and numerous nieces and nephews and a grandniece.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project, in care of the funeral home.
