Commission accepting arts award nominations

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Arts Commission is accepting nominations now through Aug. 14 for the 22nd edition of the Governor’s Arts Awards. Guidelines and nomination forms are now available on the IAC website, in.gov/arts/2332.htm. This biennial award recognizes excellence in artistic achievement, philanthropy, arts education and leadership in the arts, and builds statewide awareness of the important role the arts play in Indiana. County Children’s Choir seeking new members

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Children’s Choir is auditioning new members, age 5 through 18, for its upcoming 2015-16 season. Auditions are required for third grade through high school. No audition is necessary for kindergarten through second grade, but a simple choir readiness assessment is conducted before enrollment. Wilkerson Dance Camp available next week

GREENFIELD — Wilkerson Dance Studio, 1114 W. North St., will offer dance camp for ages 6 and up Monday to Friday. The theme for this year’s dance camp is “Time Machine.” Camp for ages 6 to 9 is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; ages 10 and older meet 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students will be doing all styles of dance using music through the years from the 1700s ballet through the Charleston, swing and contemporary hip-hop.
