Volunteers still needed for backpack attack

GREENFIELD — United Way of Hancock County is seeking volunteers for its annual Backpack Attack initiative, which collects school supplies for families in needed.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to help sort, count and pack donated supplies from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at J.B. Stephens Elementary School, 1331 N. Blue Road, Greenfield.

Volunteers may work one-hour shifts or longer, depending on availability.

Supplies may dropped off at the Hancock County Public Library or at the school bus parked for the Stuff the Bus event at Walmart in Greenfield from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Registration is required for volunteers.
