J.D. McGill, 84, of New Palestine, died Sunday, June 5, 2015. He was born on July 19, 1930, in Caryville, Tenn., as the son of Sam and Viney (Floyd) McGill. J.D. married Joy (Foust).
J.D. is survived by his children, Joyce Jenkins of Indianapolis and Dave (Linda) McGill of New Palestine; sister, Norma Dean Crowley of Seymour, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren and seven great- great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Viney McGill; wife, Joy McGill; son, Denny McGill and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1p.m. Grandson, Joe McGill will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
