Stephen Kent Brummet, 62, of New Palestine, passed away June 30, 2015, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born Oct. 14, 1952, in Indianapolis, to Joseph and Barbara Brummet. Who preceded him in death. Steve was a life-long resident of New Palestine (“Chicken Hill”).
After receiving his high school diploma at New Palestine High School in 1971, he joined the Army, and was stationed in Germany. Steve enjoyed a variety interests including, listening to his favorite bands, auto racing and motor sports and having spending time with some old friends.
Steve is survived by his cousins, Kenny Brummet, Beverly Summers, Brent Lawson, Connie Lawson, Linda Lawson, Marilyn Lawson, and John Lawson; aunt, Jackie Brummet; Aunt Pat; as well as several second cousins.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Benny Brummet, and Jimmy Brummet, who passed away in infancy.
Friends may gather from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Hendryx Mortuary New Palestine Chapel, 19 E. Main St. New Palestine, IN, 46163. Memorial Services will follow at 2 p.m. with inurnment at New Palestine Cemetery.
