Local students receive $1,500 scholarships
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock High School students Leah Jacobs and Mitchell Scott were each awarded a $1,500 scholarship from America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, a program sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
Jacobs, from Shirley, will attend Purdue University in the fall to study agricultural education.
Scott, from Greenfield, will attend Ivy Tech-Pathway to Purdue to study agricultural business management.
Grow Ag Leaders scholarships, administered by the National FFA Organization, are available to high school seniors and college students pursuing degrees in agriculture-related fields. To be considered, each applicant is required to receive endorsements from at least three local farmers.
