Chamber golf tourney set for end of July

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will play host to a golf tournament July 24 at Hawk’s Tail of Greenfield on Morristown Pike.

Hole, table and beverage cart sponsorships are available.

Registration costs are $300 for a foursome and $75 for an individual. Registration includes green fees, a goodie bag and two drink tickets for each participant.

A light breakfast begins at 7:40 a.m., and the golf outing begins at 8 a.m.

Lunch is included in registration fees and will begin about noon.

Gas fundraiser to help military families

GREENFIELD — Residents can help military families Friday just by purchasing gas.

The CountryMark, 230 W. Osage St., Greenfield, is hosting a fuel fundraiser to benefit the National Guard Family Readiness Program.

On Friday, CountryMark stations will donate 50 cents of every gallon of fuel purchased and $1 of every gallon of lubricant purchased to the program, which offers services to National Guard members’ families.

The event run from noon to 5 p.m.

Salon welcomes new employee

GREENFIELD — Ye Olde Head Shoppe has a new hairstylist.

Courtney Martin, who graduated from Knightstown Jr. Sr. High School in 2002, recently began working at the salon, 949 N. State St.

She’s been a licensed stylist since 2002 after participating in a vocational program for barbering at the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Home.

As a licensed barber, she specializes in men’s, women’s and children’s cuts, coloring and trimming. She also specializes in waxing. 

Law firm attorney attends conference

GREENFIELD — Jason White of the law firm Dickmann Reason Bogigian & White recently attended the Midwest Estate, Tax and Business Planning Institute for a two-day continuing education workshop.

Topics covered were recent tax developments, competent and ethical estate planning and practices, unique situations in estate planning practices and insurance products and retirement plans.

White is an attorney specializing in retirement planning, estate planning and elder law.
