Charles B. “C.B.” Bowman, 82, of Carthage, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015, peacefully at his home. He was born April 12, 1933, in Mount Pleasant, Va., to the late Samuel M. and Sadie (Scaggs) Bowman.
He was a graduate of Greenfield High School and served in the National Guard after graduation. Prior to his retirement in 1992 C.B. was a plumber and pipe fitter with Local #440 and recently received his pin for 50 years of service. He was also amember of Charlottesville Friends Church.
C.B. is survived by wife, Sandra (Shull) Bowman of Carthage; son, Steve Bowman (Debi) of Carthage; daughters, Janalyn Hendrix of McCordsville, Karrie (Dave) Sperry of McCordsville, Lisa (Scott) Reynolds of Greenfield; brother, Paul (Della) Bowman of Greenfield; sister, Imogene Warren of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Judy (Andy) Downing Sharon Bronnenberg, Dinah Bronnenberg; 19 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, of 47 years, Jeannie C. (Arnold) Bowman in 1999; son, Matthew A. Bowman; brothers, Samuel A. Bowman, Marshall Bowman; brother-in-law, Michael Bronnenberg and sisters-in-law, Janet Hufferd and Jody Holiday.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the funeral home with David Deem officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
