Children’s show plans visit to Military Park

INDIANAPOLIS — Join PBS Kids in the Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Military Park at 601 W. New York St. in downtown Indianapolis. This free family event features food, fun and about 20 characters from PBS children’s shows wandering around the park to meet fans and pose for photos. Comic Book duo to visit local library

GREENFIELD — The comic book writing/illustration team of Ed Cho and Lee Cherolis will be at the Hancock County Public Library 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Cho and Cherolis, creators of the Little Guardians graphic novel series, will hold a free workshop to demonstrate how to start a comic from square one. Following the workshop will be a question-and-answer session, and participants can get signed copies of their work. Register at hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141, ext. 238.

Travel ‘Around the World in 80 Days’

INDIANAPOLIS — Center Stage Productions will present “Around the World in 80 Days” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, both this weekend and next, at Southport Park, 6901 N. Derbyshire Road. Join adventurer Phileas Fogg and his manservant as they race to beat the clock in circling the globe and win a bet in an unheard-of 80 days. Danger awaits as Phileas is dogged by a detective who thinks he is a robber on the run. Five actors portray 39 characters who traverse seven continents in this new adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic adventure tale.

Talbot Street Art Fair set this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS — From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, the Talbot Street Art Fair, in the vicinity of 16th and Talbot streets in Indianapolis, will feature more than 270 artists from across the country. Artwork ranges from paintings to sculpture to hand-blown glass to clothing and jewelry. This fair offers entertainment and exhibits for all ages and is free to attend.
