GREENFIELD — The Greenfield-Central School Corp. closed a real estate deal June 2 for a former church building, which will be transformed into instructional rooms for students with special needs.

The building is at 526 Wilson St., and the $325,000 deal will come with additional costs for minor renovations to take place this summer.

Superintendent Harold Olin said contractors will determine the costs in the next two weeks.

On Monday, the school board unanimously approved a severance agreement with Hancock Madison Shelby Educational Services, the special education cooperative that Greenfield-Central is pulling out of to run its own special education program.
