Tickets available for Hoosiers reunion event

The famed Historic Hoosiers Gym in Knightstown is playing host to some of the state’s best high school basketball players Friday night.

The girls-boys doubleheader will feature Greenfield-Central’s Shelby Oldham, a Trine commit and New Palestine’s Ryan Curry.

Other 2014-15 senior standouts scheduled to play are Bedford North Lawrence’s Dominique McBryde (Purdue), Jenna Allen (Michigan State) and Alexa Bailey (Butler). Carmel’s Ryan Cline (Purdue), Pendleton Heights’ Sean McDermott (Butler) and Pike’s Tahjai Teague (Ball State) are also invites.

The girls open the night at 6 p.m. with Oldham playing for the Hickory Huskers. The boys follow at 8 p.m. with Curry joining Guerin Catholic’s Matt Holba (Lehigh) and others on the Terhune Tigers.

Knightstown’s Bob Allen and New Castle’s Daniel Cox will coach the boys teams. John Boyer of Knightstown and Corie West of New Castle will lead the girls.

Overall, nine boys Indiana All-Stars will participate. Five girls Indiana All-Stars are on the rosters.

New Palestine girls basketball camps set

The New Palestine High School girls basketball program invites all young women in Grades 1 to 7 who are interested in playing basketball to attend summer camps June 8 to 11 at Sugar Creek Elementary.

The camp will be run by the varsity coaching staff with help from current and former players. Grades 1 to 3 will attend from 9 to 10:15 a.m., and Grades 4 to 7 will attend from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Mt. Vernon High School will host several athletics camps during the summer break.

Kindergarten to Grade 2: 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Grades 3 to 5: 10:30 a.m. to noon
