NEW PALESTINE — Security company Safety Systems of Indiana opened earlier this year on Main Street in New Palestine.

The business, 56 W. Main St., is a safety and security company that designs emergency action plans with emergency communication technology.

The technology gives schools, businesses, hospitals and manufacturing facilities the ability to call their existing systems, such as public address speakers, computers, telephones, fire alarms and cameras, into action in the event of an emergency.

These emergencies might be an active shooter situation, severe weather, a bomb threat, school or workplace violence, a fire or terrorism.

The systems can be installed in almost any facility, but the company focuses on schools, said company president Thomas Wright.

The technology Safety Systems of Indiana brings all of a facility’s existing systems together to operate as one communication powerhouse, Wright said.

The company’s employees have 50 years of combined experience in security consultation, he said. Currently employees are working with local schools to promote the business’ services.

Although Safety Systems of Indiana is located in New Palestine, it serves the entire state.

Wright said the company chose New Palestine as its home base because he liked the area.

“It’s really up and coming. We think there’s a lot of people here that can appreciate what we do as far as providing this kind of security and this kind of preparedness,” he said.
