Samuel R. “Bob” Cooper, 54, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born Aug. 29, 1960, in Rushville, to Ruth Ann (Kroencke) Elmore and the late Samuel Mustin Cooper.

Bob had been employed at the CVS warehouse in Indianapolis from 2012-2014. He had previously worked for Frito Lay from 2006-2012 and Sam’s Distribution/Wal-Mart from 1990-2006.

Bob was involved with the Boy Scouts of America with his son. He enjoyed playing golf and Euchre as well as cooking. He also enjoyed the Indy 500, traveling and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, of 18 years, Shawn (Harris) Cooper, whom he married Aug. 1, 1997; son, Samuel C. Cooper; twin daughters, Jordan and Jade Cooper; his mother and stepfather, Ruth Ann (Marion) Elmore of Knightstown; sister, Tracy Steelman of Knightstown; two brothers, Brian Cooper of Knightstown and Grant (Beth) Cooper of Indianapolis; a niece, Journey Steelman of Houston; two nephews, Matt and Ben Cooper, both of Carthage; an uncle, Bob (Juanita) Cooper of New Salem; and many close friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a cousin, Dean Cooper.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Royal Hylands Golf Course in Knightstown with Shawn Booker officiating. Burial will be at Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to Autism Speaks, 1060 State Road, Second Floor, Princeton, NJ, 08540 or the American Liver Foundation, 6525 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46250. Contributions may also be made at the Celebration of Life.
