Bikes in Bloom winners announced

GREENFIELD — The winners of Bikes in Bloom were announced recently by Greenfield Main Street, after hundreds of local votes were tallied.

The Hancock County Public Library’s mint green bike with books and brightly colored flowers earned the most votes at 115. The Edelweiss Equine-Assisted Therapy Center’s horse-themed bike finished in second place with 98 votes.

Dave Gray, director of the Hancock County Public Library, and Juliana Jimenez, board president for the Edelweiss Equine-Assisted Therapy Center, both accepted honors for their organizations May 16 at the North Street Fitness Festival.

Each group was awarded a child’s bicycle to be used within its service area. Edelweiss gave its bike to the library, which will use both the boy’s and girl’s bikes as prizes in this year’s summer reading program.

Greenfield Main Street hosted both Bikes and Bloom and the North Street Fitness Festival.
