Common Threads quilt group meets monthly

GREENFIELD — Common Threads Quilt Guild will have Suzi Parron present “Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement” as the guest speaker from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 20 at the Mount Comfort United Methodist Church.

Library seeking teenagers for movie project auditions

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Public Library invites teens to audition from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday for “Page Turners II: School of ANGST,” a summer movie project.

Scripts are available at the children’s desk at the library. Auditioners should select and rehearse a character from the script to prepare for the audition.

“Page Turners II” is a comedy about the everyday lives of children whose parents are the world’s most famous heroes and villains. Call 317-861-6618, ext. 313, to register.

Arts center sets auditions for ‘Songs for a New World’

FORTVILLE — Ten West Center for the Arts will be conducting auditions for the musical “Songs for a New World” on Wednesday for actors 18 years old and older.

Parts are available for two males and two females. Auditions are by appointment only.

Performances are July 24 and 25.

Ricks-Weil Theatre Company prepares for ‘Sound of Music’

The Ricks-Weil Theatre Company will conduct auditions for “The Sound of Music” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for children younger than 16 years old.

Auditions for adults will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Children and adults should prepare to sing and read from the script. An accompanist will be provided, but auditioners should bring their own sheet music.

Please note that any children cast in the show must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to auditions, rehearsals and performances.
