Chamber to host Walk of Fame awards, festivities

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct its Community Walk of Fame Awards Celebration at 6 p.m. today.

The fundraising event, at Adaggios Banquet Hall, 5999 Memory Lane, Greenfield, will recognize community members making an impact in the Greenfield area. Nominations for the seven awards presented tonight were accepted from chamber members and the community.

The top three nominees in each of the seven categories were surprised by chamber staff with a framed announcement of the nomination and a small gift a few weeks ago. The award recipients will be announced at the event.

Nominees for Businesswoman of the Year: Kelley Holden, Cynthia’s Hallmark; Frances Hull, Hometown Comics and Games; and Diana Parker, Chicago’s Pizza.

Nominees for Businessman of the Year: Terry Edon, SignARama; Steve McCleerey, McCleerey’s Sporting Goods; and Elden DeJarnett and David Nickel, DNA Consulting.

Nominees for Community Hero: Tom Ferguson, Hancock County Food Pantry; Scott Kleine, Greenfield-Central High School Project Lead the Way; and Robb Farris, Keihin IPT MFG.

Nominees for Nonprofit Community Service of the Year: Love INC, Hancock County Arts Council and Hancock LINK.

Nominees for Entrepreneurial Spirit: Hey Café, John Cary; Husk, Nick Carter; and Joyner Homes, Sara and Tom Joyner.

Nominees for Chamber Champion: Mayor Chuck Fewell, City of Greenfield; Skip Kuker, Hancock County Economic Development Council; and Carrie Stidham, Franklin Ameri-can Mortgage

Nominees for Chamber Service: Alana Lashaway, Daily Reporter; Mark Griffin, Greenfield Banking Co.; and Tina Gruell, Morristown Manor.

The mission of the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce is “Partnering for Prosperity,” and the group partners with members from small businesses to large corporations to nonprofits and partners with local government agencies and the community. The group has more than 370 members, including more than 9,300 employees in Greenfield, Hancock County and the central Indiana region.

Award winners will be announced in an upcoming edition of the Daily Reporter.
