Darren S. Thomas, 48, of Fishers, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015. He was born on Oct. 19, 1966, in Greenfield.
Darren was a 1985 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, earned his bachelor's from Ferris State University, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Ball State University.
He was a PGA Golf Professional at several courses, including Westwood Country Club, Player’s Club, Prairie View Golf Club, and most recently at The Fort.
He was a member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church and was the varsity golf coach at Park Tudor High School for several years, also coaching Hamilton Southeastern youth sports.
He was a member of the Indiana PGA Golf Association and the Indianapolis Yacht Club. Darren enjoyed his children’s sporting events, Notre Dame Sports, the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Pacers.
Darren is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Casas) Thomas, whom he married on Nov. 21, 1992; sons Dakota, Colton, and Canyon; daughter Cassidy; parents Darrell H. and Nancy (Apple) Thomas; sisters Shannon (Colin) Curvey of Washington, D.C. and Erin (Jason) Holyfield of Athens, Texas; maternal grandmother Rosalie Apple of Greenfield; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Apple and his paternal grandparents, Hervey and Louise Thomas.
Visitation will be held from 3 until 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015, with a Celebration of Life beginning promptly at 7 p.m. at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, Fishers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015, also at Holy Spirit. Burial will immediately follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
