Jerry D. Bolin, 68, of McCordsville, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Jamestown, Kentucky.
He retired from the Chrysler Corporation in 1999 as a job setter. Jerry was a member of UAW Local #685 and was a backyard mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and attending the Strawtown Auction.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Laymon) Bolin, whom he married on July 28, 1968. He was dad No. 2 to Tony and Nancy Owens, Matt Lilly, Jimmy and Karla Lilly, and God dad (and best friend) to David and Katey Owens. He was Godfather to Amelia Baker and Papaw B. to Justin Lilly, Samantha Lilly, and Dakota Lilly; several great-grandchildren; nephew Rex (Melissa) Laymon; niece Angie Laymon; several great-nieces, aunts and cousins; mother Adaline (Marcum) Bolin; brother Kenton Bolin; sister Betty (Wayne) Gaskins; brother Lloyd (Shirley) Laymon; and lots of very close friends and extended porch family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Bolin; sister Joyce Bolin; nephew Michael Larry Laymon; great-niece Bailey Meyer; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
