James “Jim” Holder, 71, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1943, in Indianapolis, as the son of Horace and Alice (Wilson) Holder.
He graduated from Mt. Comfort High School in 1961. Mr. Holder received his bachelor’s in business from Ball State University in 1965. Jim married Nancy J. (Glenn) on June 12, 1965, at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church.
He worked as a controller for Kroger and Brookside Corporation in McCordsville and most recently for American Lifts in Greensburg before retiring in 2004. Mr. Holder was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, and was a sports fan.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Holder of Greenfield; daughter Beth (Scott) Cole of Greenfield; grandson Alex Cole; aunt Pat Bird of Shelbyville; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Alice (Wilson) Holder and several uncles.
Visitation will be conducted from 3 until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield, IN, 46140. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, also at the mortuary. Pastor Doug Bohall will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
