John A. Wiese, 81, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on Feb. 3, 1934, in Marion County, as the son of Gilbert E. and Mabel A. (Fye) Wiese.

He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1952. He served in the Army from 1954-1957. John first married Linda Sue (Addison) Wiese, after her passing in 2007, then later married Betty (Benefiel) Harmon-Wiese who survives.

John worked for Chrysler for a 6 year period and later retired with Ford after 30 years of service.

Mr. Wiese was a member of UAW #1111 for 36 years and Greenfield Christian Church. He loved playing golf and even hit a hole in one at the Greenfield Country Club on hole No. 6. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, cutting grass, and his loving companion, a border collie named Cody.

John is survived by his wife, Betty Harmon-Wiese of Greenfield; son Kenneth (Victoria) Wiese of Ledyard, Connecticut; daughter Karen Tomey of Greenfield; sister Mae Cunningham of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Rick, Kenneth Jr., and Jarick Wiese, Lynn Carlton, and Lauren and Leisha Wicker; and great-grandchildren Kolt Wilson and Kaliyah Wiese.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert E. and Mabel A. (Fye) Wiese; first wife, Linda Sue (Addison) Wiese; brothers Donald, Floyd, Charles, Ralph, and Elmer; and sisters Grace, Naomi, and Mary.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield, IN, 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the mortuary. Pastor Frank Everett will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
