John M. Borinstein, 57, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at his residence. He was born on April 1, 1957, in Indianapolis, as the son of Joseph Borinstein and Gail (Borinstein) McCashland.
He received his Bachelor's in business from Indiana University. John married Lisa (Colestock) on May 22, 1993, in Indianapolis.
He was the owner of J. Borinstein Inc. Mr. Borinstein was a member of Brookville Road Community Church. He was very involved with helping his children with their sports and enjoyed keeping score at their basketball games. John played tennis at IU and University of Arizona. He loved his family, fishing, traveling, and his dog Max.
John is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Borinstein; sons Drew, Luke, and Beau Borinstein; daughter Emma Borinstein; father Joseph (Wilma) Borinstein; mother Gail (Fred) McCashland; brothers Bill and Bob Borinstein; and sister Cathy Borinstein.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Buzzy Borinstein.
A public memorial gathering will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Brookville Road Community Church, 7480 U.S. 52, New Palestine, IN, 46163. A private funeral service will be held at Erlewein Mortuary.
