HANCOCK COUNTY — Julia Wickard, State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency in Indiana, recently reminded Hoosier producers and landowners of the upcoming deadline of Tuesday for Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program decisions on whether to update yield history and/or reallocate base acres, and the one-time program election decision.
Agricultural Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage programs were designed by Congress to protect farms’ overall economic health.
Farmers will need to decide which program is best for their farm by Tuesday.
There is still time to plug your farm information into one of the website calculators to help with this decision. The tools can be fount at fsa.usda.gov.
