GREENFIELD — Changing Hearts will have a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 W. Main St. in Greenfield. All are welcome.
Chicken noodle dinner set in Charlottesville
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Charlottesville United Methodist Church will serve a chicken and noodles dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. April 11 at the Charlottesville Lions Club Community Building in Charlottesville.
Spring vacation Bible school planned
GREENFIELD — Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 213 N. East St., will offer a free spring vacation Bible school Sunday through Thursday for children from 3 years old through fifth grade.
It begins with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by activities based on Paul and Silas in the Bible until 8 p.m.
Prayers for healing part of service
MT. COMFORT — A special Palm Sunday Service of prayer, music and prayers for healing will take place at 7 p.m. March 29 in the sanctuary of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church. The service format will follow the official Service of Healing and Wholeness as designed by The Upper Room of Nashville, Tennessee. The public is invited.
Sessions help parents, child care workers
GREENFIELD — The “Empowered to Connect” conference will be simulcast April 10 to 11 at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road.
The conference is designed to help parents and others who work with children to bring hope and healing to children who have been adopted or are in foster care. It features the trust-based parenting methods from Texas Christian University’s Institute of Child Development. One of the speakers will be Dr. Karyn Purvis, author of “The Connected Child.”

‘Listen’ artist to present free concert
IRVINGTON — Sally Applegate Rodeman will present a free concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson Ave. in Indianapolis.
She is to sing and play uplifting songs of faith from her latest CD, “Listen.” Based on Scripture, the music has a gospel feel while featuring jazz and an easy ballad style. She is the Evening Vespers music director at the church and has performed widely in Indianapolis and other areas.
A pizza reception follows the concert. Visitors are always welcome to special events and to Sunday services at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Churches present joint Lenten study
GREENFIELD — First Presbyterian Church and Holy Spirit Anglican Church are having a joint Lenten Bible study at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in the First Presbyterian building, 116 W. South St.
Gospel concerts come to Knightstown
KNIGHTSTOWN — The Vintage Gospel Lads will be in concert April 10 to 12 at the Knightstown First Christian Church.
The free concerts begin at 7 p.m. each day. The group also will be in concert with a special message at 10:30 a.m. April 12.
Members of the group include Murray Hollis of Joplin, Missouri; Steve Kehrer of Mooresville; Ron Rasmussen of Yukon, Oklahoma; Jon Stedman of South San Francisco; plus Murray’s daughter, Tammy Cady, and Ron’s son, Adam Rasmussen.
The Gospel Lads have revived interest in a foot-stomping, hand-clapping style of music captivating to people of all ages.

Catholic church plans Lenten Fish Fry
GREENFIELD — A Lenten Fish Fry will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays in March at St. Michael Catholic Church.
New Life to host blood drive this month
FORTVILLE — New Life Christian Fellowship will play host to a Lenten blood drive by Indiana Blood Center from 9 a.m. to noon March 29.
Old-fashioned auction to aid several groups
GREENFIELD — An old-fashioned country auction will benefit World Renewal International, Love INC and Friends of Recovery-Women’s Sober House, Talitha Koum.
The auction is set for 6 p.m. April 30 at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds.
The proceeds will be divided equally between the three groups. Another Addison Auction will provide the auctioneer services.
Organizers are collecting new, slightly used, collectible or antique items (no clothes, please) for the auction. All donated items are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Lenten series serves soup; speakers set
FORTVILLE — Fortville United Methodist Church, 125 E. Staat St., has been offering a series of Lenten Soup Suppers on Wednesdays in March in the church fellowship hall.
The series concludes this week with a soup and bread supper at 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by musician Karl Hinkle at 6:30.
