G. Robert Oldham, D.V.M. of Indianapolis, passed away March 19, 2015. He was born Aug. 7, 1915, near Charlottesville, Indiana, Hancock County. His parents were Guy and Daisy Oldham. His father preceded him in death at the age of 54 years via a train accident. His mother passed away in October, 1959.

Dr. Oldham attended Ohio State University and graduated from the College of Veterinarian Medicine in 1938.  He was appointed city veterinarian of Dayton, Ohio. Later he practiced veterinarian medicine near Kokomo, Indiana, (Waupecong) for 25 years. After moving to Indianapolis in 1966, he was appointed Assistant State Veterinarian by Governor Bowen. Dr. Oldham retired in 1982.

Dr. Oldham was a member of the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, and past president of that organization.  He was also a member of many years of the First Nazarene Church of Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Roberts Oldham. They were a blessed and happy couple for 77 years. Dr. Oldham is also survived by sons Richard (Patricia) Oldham of Battle Creek, Michigan; Dr. Roger (Susan) Oldham of Potomac, Maryland, and Stephen (Diane) Oldham of Mt. Prospect, Illinois. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m., with the funeral at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Stillinger Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield, Indiana.
