Mary Agnes Trees, 92, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Kahl Home, Davenport, Iowa. Mary Agnes Pontius was born Jan. 23, 1923, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Herbert and Frances (Mysker/Jones).

She married James Carter Trees on Feb. 27, 1943, in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Muncie, Indiana. He died Dec. 20, 1991.

Mary attended the Darby School of Fashion Design, Cleveland, Ohio. She was very involved in her children’s school and church activities at St. Joseph, Shelbyville, Indiana, Holy Spirit, Indianapolis, and St. Ephrem, Sterling Heights, Michigan. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Greenfield. Mary was always especially happy to spend time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Lynn Mateer of Fairland, Janet Kay Fislar of Indianapolis, and Lee Ann (Michael) Molnar, Oakland Township, Michigan; sons David William (Jacqueline) Trees, Walcott, Iowa, Joseph Mark (Lori) Trees, Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Robert Paul Trees, Lemon Grove, California; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; sister Carolyn Ann Osborn of Indianapolis and many nieces and nephews in Ohio, Indiana and California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Joyce Ann Saladino; sons James Thomas Trees and John Lawrence Trees; brother Joseph Medsker; brother-in-law Vic Osborn; sons-in-law Donald Mateer, Daniel Poe and Larry Fislar; grandson Jeremiah Thomas Molnar; great-grandson Patrick Colin Callaghan; granddaughter’s husband, Daniel Callaghan.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, and 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield, where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at St. Michael Catholic Church 513 N. Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield. Burial will be in Park Cemetery.
