With the addition of Maryland and Rutgers to the Big Ten, this year’s conference tournament will include five days worth of games for the first time.

For teams playing Wednesday, that means they’d have to win five games to claim the tournament title.

No. 7 seed Indiana opens play Thursday, probably needing at least one victory this week to solidify a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Purdue finished the regular season on a high note and, as a No. 4 seed, drew a bye into Friday’s quarterfinals.

The Big Ten Tournament, played this year at Chicago’s United Center, will conclude with the championship game Sunday at 3:30 p.m., leading into the NCAA Tournament selection show.
