GREENFIELD — A Greenfield man who was facing rape and sexual battery charges in multiple cases will serve time in prison and add his name to the sex offender registry after accepting a plea deal this week.

Hunter Rickenbach, 20, has agreed to plead guilty to sexual battery, a Class D felony, and to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor, Hancock County prosecutor Brent Eaton said.

Rickenbach’s charges stem from several sex crimes. In one case, he reportedly handcuffed a teenager, threatened her and forced her to have sex. In another, a teen came forward reporting that Richenbach forced himself on her while she was intoxicated at a party and then again the next day while she was sober.

The charges land Rickenbach on the sex offender registry, and he will serve three years in prison for the crimes, a full sentence for Class D felony crimes.

The agreement has been met with support from law enforcement and victims involved in Rickenbach’s cases, Eaton said.
