Cougars diver advances to weekend’s state finals
Greenfield-Central junior Jacob Keener finished seventh at the Plainfield Diving Regional on Wednesday to advance to the state finals. Keener scored 376.85 points, while Ben Davis’ DaeQuan Quinn won the event with a 491.75. The top eight finishers advanced to the state finals, at 9 a.m. Saturday at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Greenfield-Central freshman Ben Rader took 16th Wednesday with a 242.70.

Eastern Hancock events seeking participants
The Eastern Hancock Athletic Boosters will conduct their annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament March 14 at Eastern Hancock Schools. The tourney will consist of five divisions of play for boys and girls, as well as an open division for those older than high school age.

The Eastern Hancock Youth Baseball Program is accepting registrations for boys and girls in 6U, 9U and 12U leagues. Register with Lorrie Edwards in the high school athletics office. Sectional basketball tickets on sale now
All-sectional tickets are on sale now at Eastern Hancock, Greenfield-Central, Mt. Vernon and New Palestine athletic offices for next week’s boys basketball tournaments.
Tickets, good for all games at each sectional, are $10. Individual session tickets ($6) will be sold only at the door, at each sectional (Eastern Hancock at 2A 41 at Hagerstown; Mt. Vernon, Greenfield-Central at 4A 9 at New Castle; New Palestine at 4A 13 at Whiteland). If purchasing all-sectional tickets by check at Greenfield-Central, make payable to New Castle High School.
