HANCOCK COUNTY — Congressman Luke Messer recently honored eight students who have been nominated to attend service academies such as the U.S. Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the military academy at West Point.
Local students included Grant Williams of Greenfield and Rachel Wineman of New Palestine.
“It was a pleasure to get to know these fine young people and their families,” Messer said. “I’m amazed each year by the students … who decide at a young age to dedicate their lives to public service. These inspiring Hoosier teens are our next generation of leaders, and I am proud of their commitment to our country.”
