Bill H. Stroud, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Feb. 13, 2015. He was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Orleans, Indiana, to the late Harry and Edith Stroud.
Bill graduated from Orleans High School in 1940, and attended Franklin College. He served in the Army Air Corps for three years during WWII.
Bill married the love of his live, Barbara Abell from Mitchell, Indiana, on Sept. 7, 1945. His wife, Barbara, preceded him in death in 2010. He worked for Prudential Insurance Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1983. Bill was a member of the Wallace Street Evangelical Church.
Bill is survived by his sisters-in-law Jean Padgett and Sharon Taylor (Jerry); nieces, Peggy Staats (Al), Phyllis McGough and Lisa Thrasher; great-nieces and nephews, Sandra Hazlett, Shawn Gaines, Brandon Ellett and Jessica Pinisetti; and very special friends, Bob and Mary Busick of Orleans, the Eleanor Walter family of Indianapolis and Rodney, Lori, Adam, Jacob, and Seth Luke of Greenfield.
