The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Jan. 29

Montana Mike’s

Location: 1945 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine

Violations: C—food handler certificates are expired, 60 days; C—employee seen touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands, corrected; C—dish machine not getting hot enough to sanitize; water temperature needs to reach 180 degrees; must sanitize in three-compartment sink until dish machine can be repaired or replaced, corrected; NC—must have thermometers in all refrigeration equipment, 60 days; NCR—all hand sinks must have hot water of at least 100 degrees.

Jan. 30

Aramark Elanco

Location: 2500 Innovation Way, Building B, Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine

Violations: C—hand sink needs to be convenient for use in dish washing area.

Taco Bell

Location: 1017 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine.

No violations found.

Feb. 2

Big Lots

Location: 1618 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine. No violations found.

Speedway

Location: 110 Opportunity Pkwy., Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine

Violations: C—expired “Lunchables” in rack in cooler, corrected; C—cooler holding deli sandwiches too warm, needs to be 41 degrees or below, corrected.

Jim Dandy Restaurant

Location: 80 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield

Type of inspection: routine

Violations: C—working containers (spray bottles) used for storing sanitizer need to be identified with common name of chemical, four days; NC—repair wall and coving under three-compartment sink, 180 days; C—refrigerated, ready-to-eat food, potentially hazardous food held longer than 24 hours needs to be date marked, four days.

Feb. 3

Pizza King

Location: 215 W. Broadway, Fortville

Type of inspection: routine.

Violations: NC/R—need to replace particle board shelving, 120 days; NC—need to clean walls and window sill in pizza/breadstick dough area and by hand sink where food debris has splattered, 120 days; NC—repair wall in pizza/breadstick dough area so it is smooth, cleanable and nonabsorbent, 120 days.

Pizza King

Location: 6550 W. Broadway, McCordsville

Type of inspection: routine.

Violations: NC—repair/replace coving along wall by hand sink and three-compartment sink; NC—clean floors at wall/floor juncture and in corners.
