Buice “Bruce” C. Anderson, 95, previously of Greenfield and Fairland, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Morristown Manor. He was born on Aug. 30, 1919, in Arkansas, as the son of John and Nora (Raby) Anderson. Bruce married Allie “Dean” (Ferguson) on Aug. 30, 1939, in Arkansas.
He worked for Chrysler for over 25 years before retiring. Mr. Anderson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Hoosier Beagle Club. He raised beagle hounds and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bruce is survived by his children, Barbara (Claris) Schuyler of New Palestine, Helen Underwood of Chesterfield, IN, Bruce Wayne Anderson of Anderson, and Karen (William) Roehling of Mooresville; sister, Dorothy Mooney of Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Troy Short, Rhonda Long, Shirley Huntsman, James Thomas, Kari Bell, Lisa Koedyker, Tracey Anderson, Jodi Anderson, Erica Roehling, Erin Coram, and Delvin Roehling; 25 great- grandchildren; 3 great- great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora Anderson; wife, Allie “Dean” Anderson; 11 brothers and sisters and great-granddaughter, Jackie Dawn Anderson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until Noon Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at Noon. Pastor Randall Parker will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
