GREENFIELD — Police were outside a Greenfield home with guns drawn late Monday after a man threatened suicide.

Officers were called about 8:45 p.m. to the 700 block of South Center Street to perform a welfare check on a 27-year-old man who was threatening suicide.

For about 45 minutes, the man refused to come out of the house, police said. Because of the threat of suicide, police had their guns drawn.

Shortly after police called for backup from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, the man came out of the home. He was taken to an Indianapolis hospital.

A second man at the house, Christopher Beaty, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

No one was hurt in the incident.
