Roy O’Dell Parsons, 71, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at his home. Roy was born to Delphia (Parnell) and William O’Dell Parsons on May 9, 1943 in Steele, Mo.

He graduated in 1961 from Greenfield High School; of which he was the quarterback for the football team. He attended Indiana Central College for 1 year.

He married Anita on Oct. 15, 1983. Roy loved to go to the riverboat. His favorite snack was chocolate. He loved to watch TV, especially the Colts, of which he was an avid fan. His favorite pastime was going fishing with his boys.

Roy is survived by his wife, Anita; his sons, Jeff Yelton of Indy, Tracy (Mitzi) Parsons of Acton, Craig Parsons, Steve (Kim) Yelton, and Kirk (Sherry) Parsons, all of Indianapolis; his mother, Delphia Parsons; his siblings, Lindell (Linda) Parsons, Phillip (Connie) Parsons, Diana (Joe) Collingwood, and Victor (Gloria) Parsons, all of Greenfield; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by his father, William O’Dell Parsons and his daughter, Lori.

A public visitation for Roy will be from 3-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Service will follow at 7 p.m.
