Sanford W. “Sandy” Kleine, 72, of Martinsville (formerly of Greenfield) passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 21, 1942, in Greenfield to the late Homer Dietrich and Elizabeth Naomi Eblin Kleine.

Sandy graduated from New Palestine High School in 1960, and retired from General Motors in 1999. He was a member of the Hancock County Snow Roamers Snowmobile Club, as well as the Greenfield Conservation Club. While he was a lifelong Indiana Hoosiers, Chicago Cubs, and NASCAR fan, his greatest passion was his grandchildren . . . and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Maye Kleine; children, Kimberly Ann Toloday and Brandon Jay (Rachel) Kleine; stepson, Chris (Erica) Pennington; sister, Emma Lou (Larry) Burris; and 12 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Moore and granddaughter, Rhea Lynn Kleine.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The family is being served by Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington Street where a Funeral Service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015.  Interment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
