Richard D. Brooks, 76, of LaGrange, Ind., formerly of Greenfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor in LaGrange. Richard was born on March 30, 1938, in Hancock County, Ind., to Herman and Maxine (Carwein) Brooks; they preceded him in death.
He was a member of LaGrange 1st Church of God.
Surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Bonnie Brooks of LaGrange; a niece, Beth and Bruce Bateman of Howe, Ind.; a nephew, Greg and Cheryl Brooks of Greenfield; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service time. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the LaGrange First Church of God, 777 N. Detroit St., LaGrange, IN. Rev. Nancy Warren will officiate over the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Curry’s Chapel Cemetery in Greenfield, Ind.
