Rosemary C. Melliere, 73, of Greenfield, died peacefully among family in Dublin, Ohio on Monday, Jan. 19th following several courageous battles with cancer. Born Feb. 10th, 1941, in Evansville, Ill.

Mrs. Melliere graduated from Sparta Township (Illinois) High School in 1959, married in 1961, and devoted her time to raising her three sons.

She then worked for a number of years as a dental assistant for Dr. Robert Erwin in Greenfield. While cancer ultimately won the battle for her body, it failed to diminish the love she had for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Reinhardt of Belleville, Ill.; her sons, Scott (Emily) Melliere of Charles City, Iowa; Mike (Elaine) Melliere of Dublin, Ohio; and Gary (Kim) Melliere of Medina, Ohio; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Mary, Shelby, Stephanie, John, Adam, Peter, and Aly.

Mrs. Melliere was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marcella Wiegard and brother, Robert Wiegard.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23rd at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield, Ind. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, at 10 a.m. on Saturday followed by a burial at Washington Park East Cemetery in Cumberland.
