Mary Lou Cook, 85, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday Jan. 17, 2015, at Golden Living Center at Brandywine. She was born July 30, 1929, in Andersonville, Ind., to the late Kenneth Morris & Irma (Harmony) Morris.

She enjoyed 56 years of marriage to her late husband James P Cook Sr. whom she married on Sept. 17, 1946.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, and attended Curry’s Chapel UMC with her son, a Cooks Assistant for 18 years at Brandywine Manor until she retired in 1994. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, and it was said if you saw one you would defiantly see the others, also loved the company of her nieces.

She is survived by two sons, James P (Jimmy) (significant other Donna) Cook Jr. & Ronald E. (Robin) Cook, both of Greenfield; two sisters, Doris Graham & Jeanette Tweedy all of Greenfield; one brother, Donald Morris of New Palestine; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James in 2003; sister, Donna Belcher and brother, Eugene Morris.

Friends and family may call from 12 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday Jan. 21, 2015, with services at 2 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home of Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery.
