Grace H. Young, 76, of Greenfield, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 7, 2015, at the Hancock Regional Hospice Unit, Greenfield. Grace was born July 7, 1938, the youngest of the family's seven children of Mr. & Mrs. Harry and Hazel Carr.
Grace married Ronald Johnson in Oct. 1954, Ronald preceded her in death in June, 1981. She would later marry Jerry Young in Oct. 1982. Jerry preceded her in death in March, 2000.
Grace was a loving, kind, gentle spirited person who was a devoted Christian who lived every day for her Lord and her family. Grace was a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Greenfield. She was an avid walker and enjoyed visiting with everyone, including her friends in the apartment where she lived. She loved spending time with her family, especially her 9 great-grandchildren. Grace was also a gifted foster parent for special needs children.
Left to cherish her memory, four children, Tom (Cathy) Johnson, Bill Johnson, Linda (Brian) Ross, and Nancy (Mike) Foshee; six grandchildren, Anthony (Kelly) Johnson, Cassandra (Zack) Bedtelyon, Jennifer (David) Wait, Joshua (Emily) Foshee, Alex and Blake Ross; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jack, Rachel, Joseph Wait, Trey and Tessa Bedtelyon, Kayden and Kaitlin Foshee; brother, Robert (Cheryl) Carr.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ronald Johnson; second husband, Jerry Young; foster-son, Robert Pichey; great-grandson, Benjamin Wait; as well as three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may consider a donation to the Hancock Regional Hospice Unit, designated in Grace Young’s memory.
