Robert H. Reed, 89, passed away in his sleep on Jan. 10, 2015, at Clark’s Country Haven in Winlock, Wash. He was formerly from Indianapolis.

He served in the Navy from Jan. 15, 1944 to April 17, 1946.

In his early years, he was an avid sportsman. He loved deer hunting, made his own arrows and lead shot. He also loved fishing and camping. He played pool and was quite good at it. He was a member of Civil Aeronautics Administration, holding a single engine private pilot license. He was also a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the NRA. Robert was employed at Chrysler Corporation in Indianapolis, for 30 years.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca (Steve) Reed of Winlock, Wash., and Mary (Bill) Link of Janesville, Wis.; a step son, Tymour Raafat of Martinsville, Ind.; three stepdaughters, Patricia (Mathew) Allen Scherschel of Valparaiso, Ind.; Lou Ann (Michael) Kramer of Greenfield; and Tina Allen of Indianapolis; sister, Martha Sheets of Nashville, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irena Reed; his wife, Kyoko Reed; son, Brian Reed; daughter, Kathy Reed; and two sisters, Marjorie Jasper and Rita Anthony.

Friends may visit with Robert’s family from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN.
