Gordon “Dean” Leary, 82, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Legacy at Springhurst. He was born on June 14, 1932, in Mohawk as the son of Leoren and Percie (Wallace) Leary.

He graduated from Greenfield High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War in 1951-1955. He married Mary Jo (Adkins) on June 1, 1957.

Dean worked as a cable technician for AT&T for 37 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Greenfield Country Club, Cypress Creek Golf Club of Lake Alfred Florida and Telephone Pioneers of America; he also loved bowling, he was involved in many leagues throughout the years, and loved to golf. He was a dedicated and loving, husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Erin (Curtiss) Agner and Shane (Katrina) Leary both of Greenfield; sister, Nonie Cecil of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Shanna & Andrew Agner, and Kierra, Krista & Kyla Leary; many nieces and nephews; and his companion for many years, Betty Skutovich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leoren and Percie Leary; wife, Mary Jo; brother, Raymond Leary; and infant sister, Dorcas Leary.

Visitation will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory in Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
