Candice June Newman, 64, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, after an extended illness. She was born in Greenfield, on Aug. 23, 1950, to Oliver and Darlene Newman.
Candice graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1968 and the University of Evansville in 1972. She was employed at Woolworth for several years and then opened her own gift shop, The Calico Frog, in Nashville, Ind. Candy enjoyed music, singing, and going to the movies.
Candice is survived by her mother of Greenfield, Darlene Newman; sister, Shelley (Steve) Vail of Greenfield; brothers, Garry Newman of Indianapolis and Kevin (Cathy) Newman of Greenfield; two nieces and three nephews.
Candice’s father, Oliver Newman; grandparents and loving dog companions, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Park Cemetery, 621 S. State St., Greenfield, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Indiana, 50 E. 91st St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
