Paul James Yurchiak, 41, a former Greenfield resident, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at his residence in Crown Point, Ind.  He was born on Oct. 2, 1973, in Akron, Ohio as the son of Frank and Rebecca (Genet) Yurchiak.

Mr. Yurchiak received his Bachelors in Accounting from WGU and was working towards his Masters in Accounting.  Paul married Sally (LaBarba) on Sept. 9, 1999, in Shelbyville, Ind.

He was a Respiratory Therapist for 20 years before he pursued a Bachelors in Accounting at WGU. He was an Eagle Scout and earned his purple belt in karate. He was active with soccer and baseball as a coach for the Greenfield Youth Baseball Association and the Greenfield Soccer Club and was also a guard dad at Greenfield-Central High School. Paul loved airplanes, watching his kids play sports, Disney, boating and fishing. He most importantly loved being a dad, husband, and son. He was always striving to help others and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was his children’s biggest supporter.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Sally Yurchiak of Crown Point, Ind.; children, Luke Yurchiak, Kaitlyn Yurchiak, and MacKenzie Yurchiak all of Crown Point, Ind.; parents, Frank and Rebecca (Genet) Yurchiak; sister, Laura Yurchiak of Barberton, Ohio; great-grandma, Jean Genet; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, John Genet; and uncle, Bob Dudley.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.  A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation. Chaplain Russ Jarvis will be officiating.
