Patrick S. Kauchak, 76, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Hancock Regional Hospice, Greenfield. He was born Jan. 14, 1938, in La Porte County, Ind., to Stanley and Evelyn (Lynch) Kauchak.
Patrick was a graduate of Hanna High School, Purdue University, received his Master’s Degree from Ball State University and served in the Army. He married Barbara (Lunsford) Kauchak on June 11, 1966. Prior to his retirement in 1998, Pat was a teacher at Maxwell Middle School for 21 years. He served as President of the Indiana State Fair Rabbit Advisory Board, Hancock County 4-H Rabbit Leader for 10 years, served as a board member for the CSLOA in Sweetwater, Brown County, Indiana, and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
He is survived by wife, Barbara (Lunsford) Kauchak of Greenfield, son, Chip (Lisa) Kauchak of Livermore, Calif.; daughter, Carol Roland of Greenfield; grandchildren, Steven Roland, Joseph Roland, Lennox Kauchak and Kendall Kauchak; brothers, Stanley “Bud” Kauchak, George Kauchak, Jerry Kauchak, John Kauchak and sister, Kitty Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Kauchak and Joe Kauchak; sisters, Evelyn Haas, Marion Kovacik, Loretta Daffron, Myrna Samms and Francis Kauchak.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 4-8p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main, Greenfield, Ind. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd. Greenfield, IN 46140.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Patrick may be made to the Patrick S. Kauchak Scholarship Fund in care of the Hancock County Community Foundation, 312 East Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
